2010 Season Review - First Season, great successes
Although MUENCH replaced racing driver Rainer Kopp with Matthias Himmelmann in the middle of the season, they were able to achieve great success from the first race on. Two first place positions in world championship races, victories in both racing series, the FIM e-Power International Championship and the TTXGP eGrand Prix as well as the victory in the most important category of the series, the FIM e-Power constructing engineer category are proof of MUENCH’s outstanding season. On November 29th, 2010, the team found national approval when they were invited to the Department of Trade and Industry and honored for their outstanding developments in the field of electric racing sport by Rainer Brüderle, Minister for Economic Affairs. With this great success MUENCH proved that they definitely belong to a group of pioneers in the motorbike industry.
FIM e Power International Championship: Victory in the constructing engineer category and third place in the overall drivers ranking
After six suspenseful racing laps it was official. On September 26th, 2010, Matthias Himmelmann and his team colleague Stefano Scrocchi placed second and third in the final race of the FIM e-Power International Championship in Imola (Italy) and ensured the victory in the most important constructing engineer category. Additionally, Himmelmann who placed second in the race also had reason to celebrate further success due to his third place in the overall ranking of the racing series. An outstanding achievement considering that he could only participate in three out of five racing series competitions.
TTXGP eGrand Prix: Best racing driver and win of the constructing engineer category.
It was a really thrilling racing final that took place on October 24th, 2010 in Albacete (Spain). Matthias Himmelmann (MUENCH racing Team, Germany) and Alessandro Brannetti (CRP Racing, Italy) both proved their amazing driving abilities during a very suspenseful 9-lap neck-to-neck race. Eventually, it was only 0.228 seconds that allowed Matthias Himmelmann to emerge victorious from the final race of the TTXG eGrandprix 2010 and make him world champion 2010. Having dominated the international FIM e-Power racing series and the TTXGP eGrand Prix this season MUENCH can now call itself World Champion of all electronic racing series.
