The German MUENCH Racing Team with their driver Matthias Himmelmann currently dominates the racing scene. During their first season the team from Lohfelden was already able to win the TTXGP individual rankings and the FIM and TTXGP constructing engineer category. On November 29th, 2011 their achievements attracted national interest when Rainer Brüderle, the German Federal Minister of Economics invited the team to his ministry and honored them for their tremendous performance in the field of electrically powered racing sport.

In 2011 the team won further championship titles and numerous individual races. Thereunder, being the FIM e-Power International Championship title and the TTXGP European Championship title which they won during the 24 hours of Le Mans on September 23rd, 2011. However, the team exceeded all expectations in Anglesey (UK) on October 16th, 2011. There, Matthias Himmelmann won the TTXGP World Final with a 40 second lead and secured the most important title so far. At the end of the 2011 season MUENCH has not only won two World Championships for the first time in the history of e-bike racing but even bettered their 2010 achievements.
